Church Growth Through Small Groups

We can no longer depend on our public church services and “revival meetings” to reach the unchurched. Nor can Christians grow strong on the limited amount of teaching received in a few services a week. We must return to the New Testament practice of “house to house” teaching and fellowship. Not just any kind of weekly home Bible study. In recent years much has been learned about how to make a small group survive and produce the deep interaction between people which makes personal growth possible. Probably no other tool is as important in reaching and helping the modern world and building up churches. The last part of this course will include participation in an actual small group experience. Two textbooks will be used: Good Things Come in Small Groups by Ron Nicholas and a small group manual by Barry Curtis.
