Teaching Trip to Africa

My son, Ian, met my plane at Entebbe, Uganda May 19. Here he is securing my luggage and that of three arriving mission interns.
The traffic in the capital, Kampala, is ferocious at rush hour.
On the way to Mbale we passed through one of the few remaining strips of rain forest in that part of Uganda.
Mbale, in Southeastern Uganda, is the third largest city in Uganda, with a population of about 72,000. It is a center for the coffee industry, home of an Islamic University, and also host to many Christian missionary and aid organizations.
Presently the mission team at Mbale consists of five couples and four single women. This is the home of one of the missionary couples, Mike and Judy Shero.
Being far from home is hard, but there are beautiful things in Africa that help make up for it.
