Teaching Trip to Africa

Shawn and Linda Tyler have the longest tenure on the team and did mission work earlier in Kenya. Shawn is a "missionary's missionary." I consider him one of the finest and wisest missionaries I have ever known.

This is my son Ian, his wife Danetta, and their children before the recent adoption of baby Emily. Other missionary couples include Mike and Judy Shero, Phil and Laura Shero, and James and Noeli Luchivya, a Kenyan couple.

My daughter-in-law, Danetta, holds new granddaughter Emily, a baby orphaned by AIDS but thankfully spared from the disease.

Mike and Judy Shero received a house-warming from the other team members while I was at Mbale.

Several mission interns worked with the team this summer.
The missionary men meet for a prayer breakfast once a week. Another day is devoted to fasting. There has been very successful outreach to the Muslim community and the missionaries attribute this to fasting and prayer.
Ian and Danetta live in this house.
This is the view from their front porch.
