Teaching Trip to Africa

I returned to Kampala, the capital, before flying on to Malawi. Ian and I worshiped with a congregation in Kampala.

That afternoon, before leaving Kampala, we visited a botanical garden. There we encountered a column of army ants. These ants do not have stingers but pincers. They can eat the flesh off a small animal.

It was an emotional experience to look down on Malawi as we neared Chileka Airport. I was able to see the area where we lived for so long.

One of the first things I passed by on the way to Namikango was this historic old church, now 112 years old, built on a Presbyterian mission in Blantyre, Malawi. Notice the Malawian mother in the doorway, her baby carried on her back.
