Acts

In this course we will examine the historical, literary, and theological dimensions of Acts in the context of its relationship to the Gospel of Luke.  Acts is the second volume of the two-volume set of Luke-Acts.  The two volumes are intimately connected.  The Gospel of Luke gives an account of the life of the Lord Jesus; Acts gives an account of the early church, modeled on the Lord Jesus.  Particular attention will be given to the growth of the church, the preaching of the gospel, how people were converted, the work of the Holy Spirit in the church, and the nature of the church.
