Knowing Jesus As…
In this course, we will go beyond the boundaries of knowing Jesus only as “Lord” or “Savior.” Instead, we will work towards maturing our relationship with Jesus to where he helps us through life’s challenges in numerous capacities: as Friend, Teacher, Savior, Lord, Way, Presence, Paradox, Prophet and more. In our study last semester, “Practicing the Ways of Jesus,” we worked to move beyond lip-service to Jesus (Matthew 7:21) to the point that we are living like Jesus. Even so in this course, we will seek to grow beyond knowing Jesus as our “personal Lord and Savior” (a phrase not found in scripture), to where we know him more deeply in his numerous dimensions. The bible will be our textbook.
