The Basics of New Testament Greek
This introduction to the original language of the New Testament is not conceived as a mere academic exercise in learning vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, but as a means of cultivating pastoral virtues. Reading Greek is a spiritual discipline aimed at paying the best possible attention to the words of scripture. Taught not by a textual scholar but by a practicing minister who has long sought to engage textual scholarship responsibly, this course is intended as a foundation for further study. It will both prepare students to do a deeper dive into Greek and to fruitfully read scholarly commentaries and other resources that open up the riches of the New Testament.
Required Textbook: Basics of Biblical Greek: Grammar and Workbook by William D. Mounce. *SHBI will supply the textbook for this course to students*
