The Grand Narrative: Redemption of the World through the Lens of Luke 15

It has been suggested that the story Jesus tells in Luke 15 is the story of the Gospel, Scripture, and the world, and that if we sit with this story long enough, we learn to see the world, ourselves, and God differently. In this class, we will begin by looking at the text in its Lukan context, while considering scriptures that lie behind the story in Luke 15. We will then journey through Scripture, beginning in the Old Testament to see how this narrative is present throughout all of Scripture. By reflecting on the different ways we so often run from God, and how God continues to pursue us, the aim is that we will grow to become like, and see like the Father does.
